We have read The BFG and listened to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on tape. All the children have been inspired by Roald Dahl and I hope they will continue with this new found enthusiasm for reading. Sadly, we are coming to the end of the unit of work. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading and teaching the writing of such a great author. The children are now in the midst of writing their own stories, trying to follow some of Dahl’s writing rules, and I can’t wait to read their writing. They are so enthusiatic!
